Pink Hibiscus

This is a watercolor painting that I painted from an old photo that I took when I lived in Indian Creek.  It was a frustrating painting to do.  The white and pink variations of the flower at first looked too harsh so I soften them by painting a light Opera color over it all.  Then the white was too pink.  Next time I may do it with watercolor pencils.
Watercolor 12 X 16.  The dark background was first painted with staining thalo blue, thalo green and alizarin crimson.  After that dried I put coat of cadmium red over it.
