This is my grandson Jack, who is 13 today and his friend.  I painted it from a photo taken at the beach last summer.

The Art League of Fort Myers is having an art show to help raise awareness of breast cancer by reaching out to the community with its art.  This is one of the paintings I will submit.

Shellabration

Shellabration! 2012 is slated for February 26 through March 4.  This island-wide celebration will mark the 75th anniversary of the Sanibel Shell Fair and Show.  I have painted my entry from a shell that was found with a Sanibel Stoop.

Elephant

Elephants are lucky.  Everyone needs a picture of one in their home for luck.  This is another texture painting.  This time I used hard modeling paste that Susanne gave me.  It is stiff and hard.  I painted the whole painting with a knife.

Red Flowers

This painting was painted on illustration board that was first coated with diluted acrylic gel.  The method was demonstrated in Cheng-Khee Chee's workshop.  He mostly painted rocks with this technique.

Giriffe

I first painted the background with black gesso.  Then I painted the different colors with a knife.  I finished putting in the squares using a credit card cut long and thin.

Lilac Abstract

I started the painting as an abstract.  Then I turned into a bouquet of flowers.  You can't see the texture in the photo.

Hunting for Crabs

This time it is a painting of my grandsons, Cam & CJ.  They are nineteen and seventeen now.  I placed the two boys in the "Golden Section" of the painting.

Stairway in Greece

This was painted with many layers.  Black gesso, cadmium red, iridescent gold, burnt sienna with glazing medium and thalo blue with glazing medium.  All was applied with a knife and dried between layers.  Then I mixed grout with acrylic gel, added color and painted the buildings and stairs again with a knife.

Yellow Pail

This painting is in Acrylic.  I am struggling with color when painting with Acrylic.  I think the trick is lots of white and just a little bit of color.  This painting was from a photo taken about fifteen years ago of my grandson, CJ.
