Today was portrait class.  We have such a great group.  Kathy Ross is amazing.  She paints in oils and finds such beautiful colors.

Marsh at Coconut Point

Coconut Point is a big shopping center in Bonita.  At the edge is another marsh.  The fun thing about painting marshes is the reflections in the water.

Marsh at Imperial River

Another plein aire painting.  I am painting with a group from Bonita.  It is fun because we are meeting at new locations.  This time we met at a private home that was on the Imperial River.

Great Egret

Cape Coral Art League is having a show with the theme "birds".  So I painted another egret with gouache over a textured paper.

Six Mile Cypress Slough

I have been painting.  I have been painting so much that I haven't had time to post them all.  Today I will show you the painting that I finished plein aire at Six Mile Cypress Slough.  It was a beautiful day to paint with big fluffy clouds.  While I was painting I saw a baby alligator.  He was only six inches long.  Also there was a little blue egret, a great white egret and anhinga.

Summer Iris

I painted this summer of 2010 when I was staying in Cambridge among the Iris.  They are so beautiful.  That is what I miss most living here in Florida, the spring flowers.  I am painting these three iris again as a batik.  I can then decide which painting I like the best.

White Sunflowers

I am back from my Christmas visit up North.  I am practicing my batiks to get ready for my class Monday the 9th in LeHigh.  I like the way this one turned out.  It is light and cherry  If you are not careful the batik painting can get too dark.
